Multiple Steams of Income or to Diversify or Not in MLM?
This topic and question has been around for awhile and has mixed opinions on the subject, and while I don’t think one is right and one is wrong, I do believe that everyone is unique and what fits one person doesn’t necessarily fit another and of course everyone measures success and what they want and are trying to achieve differently.
To me there are “online marketers” and those who “market their mlm online” and there is a difference. I believe that online marketers tend to diversify more with ebooks, membership programs, advertising programs, affiliate programs, and as distributors for a network marketing company or companies, often times focusing on just 1 or 2 network marketing companies but possibly have others as “passive income streams” that they include in their signature lines, blogs, personal websites, or even the occasional tweet. Then there are those who are involved typically just in network marketing and market their opportunity online with a variety of online methods. I think while similar there is a difference, at least to me.
As far as mlm is concerned, I used to believe in the camp that one MUST only focus and be involved with one company to be successful, and for many that is the case. Diversifying or working more than one network marketing company is going to vary alot by individual based on their time, beliefs, skill sets, and their connections, marketing outlets and what they do. But as I’ve marketed online, I have begun more to believe that many can diversify if they do it wisely and of course in moderation. Can and should everyone diversify? Maybe not… Again, it is going to depend on the person.
My main focus is Network Marketing, as I truly believe in residual income and that average people can do extraordinary things in this business. As an online marketer, however I do have multiple streams of income in various things, some of which just happen to have a mlm marketing plan behind them and most of them are passive opportunities. My main focus though is simply with two companies that I believe are incredible and work extremely well together, and anything else I consider passive income steams.
If you plan on being involved with more than one network marketing company you need to keep in mind that your marketing costs, daily time spent, and focus will be divided. There are some exceptions as to programs that I consider “passive” meaning it’s income that comes in with little maintenance, meaning they take very little of your attention.
If you choose to diversify and work multiple companies, you still need to make sure that you are giving your downline and team members your FULL attention and make sure a good support group and upline is in place for those times that you are unavailable.
Now with that said on there is one thing I want to mention and that is that even with a great skillset, management skills, amount of daily time to devote to your businesses, etc… you still need to focus and keep a limit to what is comfortable for you. I prefer things that compliment one another in my chosen niche and believe that two is probably the limit, unless I run across something that can be marketed in a way that doesn’t take much attention from the other things I am doing.
On another note, even with multiple streams of income, some of them you want to be passive income streams, you still don’t want to fall into that trap of promoting everything and anything that comes along simply because it fits your niche or your best friend is extremely excited about, I believe in the long run that is more detrimental than good. I’m sure we all have that great friend who sends us 10, 12, 15 or more emails every single month on a different new and “hot” program or company, you just need to hit the delete key!
I think you should limit your focus to two maybe three things you are truly excited and passionate about and only if you plan on giving your all because to be successful you can’t do anything half way. Please don’t be that person that is constantly sending the next best flavor to your list every week or every day, I honestly believe that is self destructive and won’t lead you to the success that you are looking to create. If you do decide to diversify and get involved with more than one company always remember if you find you can’t devote enough time and attention to more than one, more importantly to your team members, then you may want to consider focusing on just the one you are most passionate about BUT still continue to support everyone in your respective companies.
So I am not saying I think someone should or could go out and successfully build 5, 6, 7 or more network marketing companies at one time, but if you feel you can give your BEST to more than one company why not. Even better give your energy to just that special one or perhaps two and have others that just fit into your realm that you can do on a passive basis without distracting from your primary objective. More often than not, your main focus will always be where your income is the greatest.
So for Multiple Streams of Income, only you make the rules for you, just do so in moderation and always remember to give 110% to everything you do!

Continue Reading »Today I wanted to talk about the importance of building your web presence of getting your own personal website and utilizing your social media outlets to build your network.
One of the easiest ways to learn setting up your website, or almost anything for that matter is to research things, play around with things, get a feel for stuff and learn on your own. There are plenty of resources on the internet to learn html to build your website, templates, affordable webhosting, and more…. in fact many of the sites have built in website builders where you can design an awesome website without even knowing or understanding html! Yikes, I still remember my first “homemade site” about 11 years ago! Wow things have changed since then. Back then it was lots of blinking stars, rainbow bars, bouncing smiling faces, cartoon characters, blinking bullet points, bright primary colors, animated clipart, and all that stuff… today that look probably wouldn’t get you very far or have someone take you very seriously.
Today though you don’t need to do all the learning of html codes, learning your away around an html editor, trying to design tables or place your graphics as there are tons of cool sites out there that make it simple for just about anyone to design a website. In fact, if you can type and drag and drop things on your computer you can design a nice simple personal website, even a blog.
It isn’t that hard but you should take the time now to start building your web presence and getting that first page up and running. In fact with some website builders you don’t even need to purchase your own domain name, but I do recommend that. The cost of a domain is about $10.00 a year and is a definite good business expense that you won’t want to skimp on.
Many Great WebSite Builder Sites that you can try
Wix – A Great Flash Website builder offering free and paid versions. The free version typicaly says powered by Wix but is a great place to go if you are looking to build a flash site with no experience.
Weebly -Another great website builder whether you want to do a blog or a full blown site, as easy as drag and drop. This is a popular one and am also an affiliate of this one I like it so much.
Webstarts -Dozens of templatges, drag and drop videos, photos, and more. No html knowledge necessary.
If the task of setting up your own personal page seems daunting, you can start out with a blog, they are one of the simplest methods to build your web presence and pretty easy to use and understand. So I recommend either blogger.com or wordpress.com for a great place to get your blog started. You can go to www.wordpress.com and set up a blog, choose a template without even getting a domain name if you want. These are both great places to start on blogging.
Once you have your blog or website built, be sure to put your link on your Twitter and Facebook Page.
Hope that helps on building your website presence and helping you start to brand yourself online.

File Storage – Storing files on line has become popular for alot of reasons, one being that it gives you the ability to access your files from anywhere you have computer access and from any computer. That is great when your vacationing, doing a presentation elsewhere, or even at work and realize you need that file that’s on your computer and it beats having to carry around your usb drive.
Some great online file storage sites
FileDen - FileDen offers great online storage and free file hosting and it makes it simple to share files on the net with family and friends. You can give direct links to your files for others to access, embed them on web pages (great for videos and such). They give you a large 50 mb max file size, 1 GB of storage space, 5GB of bandwidth a month. This is a great service.

You can create groups to share with (Ie: friends, workgroups, family, etc…) and choose who you wish to share files with. Nice site.
StoreandServe – Store and Share audio, video, photos, documents, file and more. You get links you can post on your blogs, emails, messge boards, etc… You don’t even need to register for the service, good one.

Email Large Files
Ever have your email server “hangup” or freeze as you tried to send someone a rather large file?
If you did and you don’t want to set up an account and store files online with one of the storage hosts that give you the ability to share, another option is to get a service such as those below that give you the ability to send large files and help you keep your sanity. : )
MailBigFile – requires no registration. You can send up to a 100MB file to one person, great when you have that extra large file that your email account just won’t let you get through no matter how hard you try.
