From file sharing and storing, to sending large email files and web hosting, there are dozens of resources online that will definitely make your life easier. The good news is that many of them offer free and low cost versions.
File Storage – Storing files on line has become popular for alot of reasons, one being that it gives you the ability to access your files from anywhere you have computer access and from any computer. That is great when your vacationing, doing a presentation elsewhere, or even at work and realize you need that file that’s on your computer and it beats having to carry around your usb drive.
Some great online file storage sites
FileDen - FileDen offers great online storage and free file hosting and it makes it simple to share files on the net with family and friends. You can give direct links to your files for others to access, embed them on web pages (great for videos and such). They give you a large 50 mb max file size, 1 GB of storage space, 5GB of bandwidth a month. This is a great service.
MegaUpload- Offers the ability to send larger files up to 500 MB. They have free versions (with ads) and premium paid versions as well and offer large high volume business accounts, even pay per download.
MyOtherDrive lets you store and share photos, videos, files, music, and more. They offer you 5GB of storage and you can select how you’d like to share. You can upload files up to 2GB in mass uploads if you’d like, which makes it easier if you have several videos, files, or music that you’d like to upload, saving you time of having to do them one by one. You can create groups to share with (Ie: friends, workgroups, family, etc…) and choose who you wish to share files with. Nice site.
StoreandServe – Store and Share audio, video, photos, documents, file and more. You get links you can post on your blogs, emails, messge boards, etc… You don’t even need to register for the service, good one.
MediaFire- allows free unlimited uploads, unlimited downloads, unlimited bandwidth, multiple downloads and no sign up or registration is needed.
BooMP3 – offers free unlimited audio hosting.
FileFactory - lets you host files up to 300MB for free. Unlimited downloads, no registration needed.
Email Large Files
Ever have your email server “hangup” or freeze as you tried to send someone a rather large file?
If you did and you don’t want to set up an account and store files online with one of the storage hosts that give you the ability to share, another option is to get a service such as those below that give you the ability to send large files and help you keep your sanity. : )
MailBigFile – requires no registration. You can send up to a 100MB file to one person, great when you have that extra large file that your email account just won’t let you get through no matter how hard you try.
DropSend - lets you store and send files online. Get a free account with 250 MB of storage. You can download files 7 times, send up to 5 emails a month with large files with the free account, and the maximum file size is 1GB.
JungleDisk – This great extremely low cost service (Personal acct. just $2. a month and Business just $4. per month) offers you the ability to store and share files, complete automatic backups online.
I hope you fine one of these great resources a plus in making your life easier online.
